8x10, early work in Fusionism - 2002
      Fusionist Art

Fusionism is a new art movement that blurs the lines among different cultures, fuses old and new painting media, and mixes human versus machine-generated work.  I am inspired by ancient native cultures, digital images from NASA's Hubble space telescope, and the opening of Spaceport America in New Mexico.  This new series, Ancient Spirits I, reflects a spiritual pathway from here to eternity led by ancient Kachina guides. Most are proportioned to the Golden Ratio , reflecting my mathematical background and connection to classical art.

These artworks are examples of what I'm doing in the new art field of Fusionism. They are digital  photographs from either my own files or NASA's public gallery of Hubble images.  To them, I apply  isolation layers and then use oil paint and acrylic polymers to create the ancient images.  Please enjoy this new and exciting art form!

The full size pieces of original art will be presented to the public for the first time in May 2012 at the Placitas Artists Series where I was juried into the group of four featured artists.

Prints are available at 11x14 size on acid-free, high quality paper.  Limited edition prints on canvas are also available.

Copyrights: The Hubble photographs were produced by STscI for NASA under contract NAS5-26555.
